Moisture Minder Automatic Drains - Works When Others Have Failed

The Moisture Minder I Piston Drain valve is pneumatically operated and requires no
electricity. It does not waste expensive compressed air like solenoid drains, float
drains, or diaphragm drains. This drain is operated by a pilot air signal from the
compressor unloader. The Moisture Minder cycles each time the compressor starts
and stops, using the unloader to operate the drain. It will handle compressors up to
25 HP, although it can be used in compressors up to 200 HP when used with a Drain
Minder controller.

HOW IT WORKS

All that is needed for automatic operation is a Pneumatic Pilot Switch which can be
provided by the Drain Minder Controller, or by tapping into the Compressor Unloader Line.
- Pressure on the unloader line forces the piston past the drain port, sealing the water collection reservoir from the atmosphere.
- As the piston moves forward, the spring loaded stainless steel ball check is opened, permitting condensation and oil to be forced up into the stainless steel reservoir.
- This compresses the air in the top of the reservoir to system pressure.
- As the pilot signal valve returns to zero, the piston returns, closing the system from the atmosphere.
- When the piston is in the original position, the drain port is opened, allowing the accumulated condensate and oil to be expelled.
