Why SK does not accept abused or misused tools under its
warranty policy.

Abuse and misuse of tools causes accidents and bodily injury. Tools are
designed to perform specific functions. The metal used in a tool, the heat
treating and hardening process, and the finishing of the tool are all determined
by the function of that tool will perform. Misuse and abuse may put stress and
fatigue on a tool which are beyond the design of the tool. When this happens,
the tool can break.

Most importantly, misuse and abuse damages your tools and can cause
bodily injury if a tool breaks during use.

SK wants all tool users to recognize the dangerous consequences that
abuse and misuse can cause. Our message is clear. SK does not condone or
support the abuse or misuse of hand tools. For this reason, SK does
not accept abuse or misused tools under warranty. Don't tale chances.
Use the right tool for the job. For more information on Hand Tool Safety
contact SK and ask for the Hand Tool Institute Booklet. For classes and
groups, SK also offers a 30 minute video tape on Hand Tool Safety which
was produced by the Hand Tool Institute. Contact SK for more information
on how to borrow this video.

Ratchet handles and wrenches that have been dented, grooved and
broken indicate abuse with "cheater bars" or a hammer.

Broken screwdriver tips and bent shanks are the result of using a screwdriver
as a pry bar, punch or chisel.

Chrome sockets with square drives that have rounded out corners and/or
peened metal around the drive end show the normal signs of use on
impact or power wrench. Continued use on an impact wrench will cause
the socket wall to crack or shatter.
