Spark Tester Electronic Ignition
Electronic Ignition Spark Tester A quick way to check no-start cars for ignition problems. Simply unplug the plug wire, connect it to the 7230, clamp the tester to a good engine ground, crank the engine, and watch for spark. A properly working electronic ignition system will be able to jump a spark across the tester's spark gap (preset at .250"). Two 7230 testers are recommended for checking spark on DIS or EDIS applications-a good DIS or EDIS will fire two testers at once.
