About Coats Tire Changers

Since Gil Coats first invented the tire changer, it has been continually upgraded and refined. Today, COATS is the only U.S. manufacturer and the largest supplier of tire changers in the country.

COATS offers a broad spectrum of tire changer models, designed to meet the needs of small shops that change a handful of tires to large businesses that handle hundreds of tires a week.

COATS builds new models by utilizing "Voice of the Customer" input to make products easier to use, safer, and more efficient.

A Note on Model Designations:
COATS tire changer model numbers may feature an "A," "E," or and "X" after them. These designate different variations of each model.

"A" indicates an air-powered unit

"E" indicates an electric-powered unit

"X" indicates an extended tabletop to handle larger rims.

For example, the COATS Model 4050A indicates that it is an air-powered tire changer. Model 9010E is available in electric power. All other models are available in either air or electric. All models except the 4050A, the 5030, and the 9010E are available with the "X" extended tabletop.

See individual model specifications for more details.

As tires and wheels continue to change, so do our tire changers. New models feature such innovations as our Robotic Arm, make changing runflats easy. And new ideas in wheel protection keep the most delicate alloy wheels safe during the tire changing process.

Speed: Features like our exclusive robotic arm were designed to provide the extra power and leverage to change the toughest tires on the market. This speeds floor to floor times and cuts operator fatigue. Self centering clamps and our bead loosening system add speed through simple operation.

Accuracy: Precision gauges mean accurate inflation, and our X-shaped tabletop provides the right clamping pressure for even the most delicate alloy wheels without damage.

Durability: Super-tough fiber reinforced composite air cylinders virtually never wear out and bead looseners have extra support blocks for extra protection and durability.

Ease of Use: Foot controls are positioned for easy access while robotic arms and other features provide extra power and leverage. Plus, the built-in bead sealing jets and table top inflation help simplify the job.

And we offer a complete range of accessories that allow you to upgrade your tire changer. In fact, a tire changer sold ten years ago could still be upgraded to have many of today’s features.
